Our Rating:
4.5/5

Termsfeed is a simple, affordable document generation solution that offers INSTANT legal compliance at a fraction of the price of a professional attorney — or so people claim.

But will their policies ACTUALLY make your site compliant and protect you from potentially disastrous consequences? These policies are required BY LAW in every country. You cannot take the risk.

In this TermsFeed review post, we put the policy generator to the test and we evaluated their documents for compliance, quality, and relevance. The results from our tests were excellent, but perhaps a bit surprising.

TermsFeed Overview: Read This First

TermsFeed is a document generation solution that streamlines the creation of high-quality legal documents for e-commerce stores, websites, web and mobile apps, Facebook pages, SaaS companies, and anywhere else, people need legal agreements.

If you can follow a simple process, you’ll have personalized legal documents in a matter of minutes — and for thousands of dollars less than if you’d hired professional lawyers.

And instead of monthly payments, TermsFeed charges only a one-time fee for creating legal agreements. That means you pay once and your legal contracts are yours in perpetuity. As long as the law remains unchanged, you’ll never pay again.

But it’s not for everyone based on other reviews we’ve read, and you could run into issues if you use their free templates. We’ll explain in more detail in our TermsFeed review below.

Which Types of Documents Does TermsFeed Offer?

TermsFeed offers the following documents:

They also offer a range of free templates if you prefer to fill in the information yourself.

However, be aware that you MUST include ALL OF THE REQUIRED information by law in your legal agreements, or you’ll be non-compliant. We’ll explain in further detail in our Pricing section.

Do I Even Need TermsFeed (Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Disclaimers, etc.)?

In general, all companies –whether you’re an online business or not–need legal documents to offer services to the public.

And yes, the majority of websites need a Privacy Policy with few exceptions. If your policies fail to comply with certain regulations – namely the California Online Privacy Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation – you could be found liable for civil penalties, or worse.

For your reference, you need legal agreements if:

  • You collect email addresses
  • You use geolocation (GPS)
  • You sell a product or a service
  • Your users can create an account
  • Your users can publish content
  • You have copyright infringements notices

How Does TermsFeed Work?

For this Termsfeed review, we looked at their legal document creation process and analyzed dozens of agreements for their validity and compliance. Overall, we were very impressed.

In our opinion, it is merely unrivaled and is by far the most intuitive policy generator available if you’re an online business (this does come at a cost, however).

WARNING: An online policy generator is NEVER a substitute for an attorney. However, if used properly, they can be a versatile time-saver for most online businesses.

Here’s how the service works…

First, you start by choosing the type of document you need. You can do this by clicking on “Generate Agreement,” and then you can go ahead and select the specific document you need to create from the drop-down menu.

We’ll use the Privacy Policy Generator as our sample here. Don’t worry, the processes for creating different documents or policies are roughly the same.

How-To generate agreement

Your business is unique, so that it will create a customized version of your document based on your answers to a series of questions regarding the nature of your operation (like questions around the collection of email addresses or the tracking of location data).

We love how it auto-generates your policy according to your answers, unlike most other services that make you manually fill in the policy. It makes things WAY easier and nearly eliminates human errors.

General Information on Termsfeed

Your policy is generated based on your answers to simple multiple-choice questions

Your document won’t be as detailed as a proper legal agreement drafted by a professional, but it will cover all major clauses and protect you from liability. It even adjusts your agreement depending on country and state/province.

Information requested by Termsfeed

One feature that you’ll find especially useful is that it offers instant compliance to some of the world’s most stringent regulations, the GDPR and CalOPPA (for an extra fee).

Termsfeed Policy Compliance

That’s it. Easy, right?

Once you were able to answer all of the questions, select your preferred payment method, click download, and post it wherever you need. The available formats are:

  • PDF
  • DOCX
  • HTML
  • Text

Bonus: Unlike a real-world lawyer, TermsFeed serves as a watchdog. If any law or regulation changes, you are INSTANTLY notified with required updates.

TermsFeed Pricing – How Much Does TermsFeed Cost?

Termsfeed Pricing

Quick Overview: TermsFeed is a la carte pricing changes based on dozens of different factors. While many find this inconvenient based on other reviews, it’s a significant advantage if you’re an online business. Also, you only pay once, and your agreement is yours in perpetuity. You never pay any annoying monthly fees.

WARNING: TermsFeed does support FREE templates, but they don’t provide necessary clauses for GDPR or CalOPPA. Without wording for these regulations, your agreements are worthless. Spend the extra money to create premium documents — reviews say that it’s worth it.

There is no way to pinpoint TermsFeed pricing without generating your documents manually. The company charges a la carte, meaning you pay based on what’s included in your document.

For a start, if you want to be GDPR-compliant, you pay extra for that.

If you’re a business, you’ll be charged $14 more than an individual would for creating legal agreements.

Sounds confusing? It is. But it’s a good thing.

Here’s why…

Most online legal agreement generators charge flat fees, many of them higher than TermsFeed. Then, they charge monthly payments.

This means you pay for several clauses/services that your company doesn’t need or never uses. Think of it like paying for a sports car in a state where the speed limit is 50 mph — there’s no use for all those extra features.

So, while TermsFeed requires more manual work, it’s better because you only pay for what you use.

The price of our privacy policy came out to only $56 — only a fraction of what we’d give to a lawyer.

For this TermsFeed review, we went through each service and analyzed real documents from real companies to test the quality of TermsFeed’s services, including:

  • TermsFeed Privacy Policy Generator

  • TermsFeed EULA
  • TermsFeed Return and Refund Policy
  • TermsFeed Cookies Policy
  • TermsFeed Disclaimer Generation

Here’s what we found. We were stunned.

TermsFeed Privacy Policy

Our TermsFeed privacy policy took less than 2 minutes to create, and the document was 100% compliant with the necessary regulations. As long as you know the specifics for your website or mobile app, anyone can create a privacy policy in minutes, even with zero prior experience.

TermsFeed Terms & Conditions

Terms and conditions or terms of service are not required by legislation, but third parties almost always require them (e.g., Facebook). And with how easy it is to generate a terms and conditions document with TermsFeed, there’s no excuse NOT TO have one. Especially because they protect you from legal liability.

We were able to generate fully-functioning terms and conditions agreement in about 3 minutes. And even with our extremely complex needs, the price of our terms and conditions document only came to $72.

There’s an excellent chance your terms and conditions document will cost far less. And it will cost less than hiring lawyers.

Termsfeed Terms and Conditions Pricing

NOTE: It’s easy to download, edit, and upload your Terms and Conditions should you ever need to, unlike most competitors that pull the terms and conditions document text to your website via an API. Looking for Termsfeed alternatives? Check our review on the best terms and conditions generator.

TermsFeed End-User License Agreement (EULA)

An end-user license agreement is an agreement between a software provider and the user who downloads the product. EULAs define the liabilities, licenses, and restrictions regarding the software product.

In our experience, the EULA generated by TermsFeed was nearly flawless and covered all relevant terms of our sample software license, including:

  • Exclusive intellectual property
  • Application updates
  • Data privacy clauses
  • Limited liability

The price? $50.

TermsFeed Return and Refund Policy

Return policy generation on Termsfeed is smooth, and the text is short, concise, and clearly states the necessary clauses of an e-com store’s requirements. They don’t go into granular detail, but it will suffice in the beginning.

In time, you can slowly improve upon your return policy as your business progresses, and you get a better idea of how the process works and how to protect yourself from legal issues.

For a business 30-day return policy where customers must have proof of purchase, the final cost was $36.

TermsFeed Cookies

TermsFeed offers Free Cookies Policy. However, we don’t recommend using those free versions. If you’re a business, take the time to make personalized cookie policies and ensure that they’re GDPR compliant.

Your policy must explain how, why, and where cookies are active on your site. More importantly, you must give users the ability to give consent to cookies or to refuse them.

While the specifics of the policies aren’t important here, you must have an agreement that’s accurate and up-to-date.

And since it only costs $17 to generate a customized cookies policy, it is worth every penny to use TermsFeed. Also, it took less than one minute to generate our policy — that’s how easy it was.

TermsFeed Disclaimer

After we were able to review TermsFeed’s disclaimer policy generator, we found out that it is excellent for websites, health and fitness, and copyright disclaimers. It can support different disclaimer formats for different types of customers.

Honestly, their disclaimer policy generator is unrivaled on the web for its combination of simplicity, compliance, and usability.

We were able to quickly generate a clear and comprehensive disclaimer (in our case, it’s an “affiliate disclaimer”) for one of our sites nearly instantly for only $17.

Conclusion

TermsFeed is by far the best legal pages generator online, and no other legal agreements generators even come close to it. However, it’s not for everyone, and its free templates will only get you so far.

If you are a large company with dozens of moving parts and complex needs, then you should consider using a legal firm instead. But if you are a small to mid-sized business or an online solopreneur who wants to save time and money, Termsfeed is 100% worth every penny.

Iubenda is a great alternative for those who value convenience. Instead of worrying about quality, editing, and maintaining a document, this one service allows you to generate compliant policies for one low fee. And then Iubenda’s legal team updates them for you. Check our detailed Ibuenda Review.
